Move Away from Oil Announcement
The Province of Nova Scotia recently announced new funding to help low-income and middle-income Nova Scotians transition away from oil heating.
If you are interested in the free heat pumps for income qualified homes, visit HomeWarming.ca to see the income criteria and to apply today. If you were previously enrolled in the HomeWarming Program and heat your home with oil, regardless of if you had received upgrades or not, you are eligible to reapply to the HomeWarming Program to be considered for a heat pump and any electrical panel upgrades needed to install them. If you are currently enrolled in HomeWarming, our team will reach out to you directly once the heat pump portion of the program launches.
We are currently awaiting program details for the middle-income incentives through the Home Energy Assessment program. If you would like to be kept up-to-date as we learn more and roll out this portion of the program, please complete this form.
HomeWarming offers no-charge energy assessments and free home upgrades to eligible Nova Scotians.
It’s important to us that people living on lower incomes benefit from energy efficiency and feel comfortable at home. That’s why we offer a no-charge energy assessment and potential upgrades to income-qualified homeowners.
If we discover that draft-proofing, insulation or other efficiency options can help make heating & cooling your home substantially more affordable and comfortable, we’ll install the upgrades at no cost to you. We’ll even coordinate the retrofits.
